Ingredients:

  • Oil

  • 1tbs mustard seeds
  • 1tbs Asafetida (Hing)

In a small wok, add oil, add in mustard seeds and asafetida and let it crackle a bit. Now add the Onions. Sauté it till it becomes medium brown. Add the vegetables. Sauté it for a minute. Now add the Oats. Mix till oats look mild brown. Now add in water to give it a porridge type consistency. Now add the turmeric powder, garam masala and dhaniya Jeera powder.  Add salt to taste. I also add on a spoon of curd to make it tastier.

Let it cook. Once done garnish it with coriander.  Serve it hot.

Since I made this for kids, I skipped, chilies but it would taste great with a bit of chilies added along with onions if you are making it for adults.

A bowl full of this will make you feel full and content.
